Angels & Demons, the Half-Blood Prince and G.I. Joe

A night before Hari Raya AidilAdha. (btw, Selamat Hari Raya AidilAdha from Iszaham). My friend from Singapore (actually He is Malaysian BUT work there, so he Malaysia Citizen) bought me a 2-disc extended edition Angels & Demons, a film adaptation of Dan Brown's novel by the same name. It is the sequel to The Da Vinci Code, even though the novel Angels & Demons was published first and takes place before the novel The Da Vinci Code. The DVD cost around 32.90 dollars.

The next days. Probably around 0600 pm I went to Jusco at Perda. I bought another two DVD. First, a 2-Disc Special Edition Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, a fantasy-adventure film based on the novel of the same name by J. K. Rowling. It is the sixth film in the Harry Potter film series.

Second, a 1-Disc G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, a live-action film adaptation of the G.I. Joe toy franchise, with particular inspiration on the comic book G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero. The film is directed by Stephen Sommers.

  • Angels & Demons:
I love thriller movie but the only thing that helped this movie was the casting: Tom Hanks, Ewan McGregor, Ayelet Zurer, and Stellan SkarsgÄrd. With talent like this, it's hard for the performances to be too awful. But when you have a story that doesn't make sense but tries to engage the viewer with plot twists that anyone can see a mile away, there is only so much a good actor can do.

  • Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince:
For now, though, Prince treats viewers to superb effects work, longer running time, haunting art direction, great dollops of humor and emotion, and great casting. British actor who in J.K Rowling's Harry Potter franchise was brilliant in interpreted their visionary character.

  • G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra:
G.I. Joe was not reported to be a very good movie at all. I must admit I wasn't excited when bought the DVD. Honestly I thought, the acting in this movie is terrible, the dialoge is laughable, and I've seen better special effects before in TV made-movies. I could have cared less about what happened to any of the characters as the movie just jumps straight into action and doesn't explain a thing. For what is worth, it still worth watching.
